      Dr. Travis Austin is Vice-President of Computational Mathematics at Tech-X Corporation. He has worked on problems from the field of electromagnetics,

plasma physics, and applied mathematics.  In the past, he has helped develop eigenmode solvers for accelerator cavities and is currently leading the

development of the VSimEM package.

內容:Vorpal is an electromagnetic and particle-in-cell software suite developed by Tech-X Corporation for simulating electromagnetic, particle, and plasma

phenomena.  In this webinar, we will introduce the capabilities offered by the new VSimEM package for studying electromagnetic problems.  VSimEM is one of

four separate packages now offered by Tech-X Corporation as a part for the Vorpal software suite.  Other packages are VSimPD for modeling plasma discharge,

VSimMD for modeling microwave devices, and VSimPA for modeling plasma accelerators. 
     In this webinar, we will focus on photonic crystal modeling, accelerator cavities, and antenna modeling.  We will demonstrate the calculation of

eigenmodes in a crab cavity as well as wave reflection off of a complex geometry.  Finally, we will exhibit new features for examining radiation patterns and

S parameters of antenna structures in addition to introducing basic functionality for performing Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) calculations.
